no drug war 2.0 campaign

My proudest accomplishment with the advocacy and education non-profit, Supernova Women,  was executing the social media campaign for the "No Drug War 2.0 Rally" at the California State Capitol in January 2022. I spearheaded the development of the website and social media strategy for the campaign, creating all content and mobilizing our community to take action.

We had two objectives; to lower the 40% cannabis taxes rates for patients and to reduce the tax burden of small business owners, specifically the predominantly Black and Brown social equity business owners. Without managing California’s exorbitant cannabis tax rates, the emergence of an unregulated market (with lower prices for the consumer), could lead to not only another Drug War, but also a trail of failed businesses in its wake.

My task was to educate and mobilize multiple types of audiences, including small and equity businesses, patients, consumers, politicians, and the media.
